This past weekend produced lots of great weather and great racing over the Southeast. With 10 TYB Athletes racing over 2 triathlons – the TYB team was very well represented. With 8 TYB Athletes at Parris Island at 2 at the Natchez Sprint Triathlon in Tenn, everyone had great races.
While great weather and sunshine was the theme at Parris Island, mud and rain was the theme at Natchez Trace. Turning the scheduled triathlon into a run, bike, muddly trail run duathlon. All in all a great weekend. Check out the results below:
- Kat Welling: Parris Island Sprint Triathlon – 58:58 – With the fastest swim of the day, second fastest ride of the day, and a 19:50 run, Kat finished 1st Overall and was the only female to break the hour barrier.
- Tom Snell: Parris Island Sprint Triathlon - 1:01:14 – With a blazing fast run of 19:55, Tom finished with a solid race and 2nd in the M50-54 Age Group.
- Troy Harman: Parris Island Sprint Triathlon - 1:03:31 - Finishing 2nd in the Master Clydesdales, Troy had the fastest bike split and the second fastest run in the division – narrowly missing first.
- Cheryl Quinn: Parris Island Sprint Triathlon – 1:04:50 – With a solid race and a 20:28 run to finish off the triathlon, Cheryl finished 1st in the Masters Open Female.
- Armin Wahl: Parris Island Sprint Triathlon - 1:05:15 – With a solid swim and bike, Armin finished it off with a great run of 19:35 to finish 4th in the Military Division.
- Jeff Waddle: Parris Island Sprint Triathlon - 1:06:29 – Continuing his great run of PR’s, Jeff took 6th in the M50 -54 Age Group and took more than 8 minutes off of last year’s time!
- Dan Carhart: Parris Island Sprint Triathlon - 1:07:47 - Using this as a taper race before the big race next weekend – California 70.3 – Dan had a great race and even cruised the last mile and a half of the bike on a flat tire.
- Jan Russo: Parris Island Sprint Triathlon - 1:21:24 – With a very solid bike and run all around, Jan had a great race and a great start to the 2010 tri season.
- Lauren Goss: Natchez Trace Sprint Duathlon - 1:15:12 – With the fastest first run, the fastest second run, and the second fastest bike of the day, Lauren won the overall women’s collegiate division while racing for Clemson and helping the Clemson Girls to win the Girls competition.
- Kristen Thomas: Natchez Trace Sprint Duathlon - 1:20:55 – Finishing 4th Overall in the collegiate division, Kristen also helped the Clemson Girls team on its way to their team title with the third fastest run, fourth fastest bike, and third fastest run to finish it off.
