TYB Athlete Has a Great Kiawah Island Half Marathon! December 15, 2011

After starting with TYB a little over 12 weeks ago, Randy Still was ready to take on the Kiawah Island Half Marathon.  After starting off with a “long run” of 3 miles in the first week of training, Randy trained smart and effectively and went to Kiawah and had a great Half Marathon.  Now, Randy has signed up for his first marathon in 2012.

Lots of TYB Athletes have been in action over the past few weeks.  Hot and humid is the name of the game for August!  Stay hydrated and stay fueled!  Check out the results below:

  • Parker RothGreenville Sprint Triathlon – 57:23 – With the fastest bike and the fastest run, Parker broke his own course record by 6 seconds to win the Greenville triathlon by over a minute and a half.
  • Randy ParksGreenville Sprint Triathlon - 1:06:53 – With a blazing fast bike and a very nice run, Randy took more than 30 seconds off his previous best to win the M40-44.
  • Eric Stone Greenville Sprint Triathlon - 1:09:02 – With a very solid all around effort a very nice run to finish the race off, Eric took more than two and half minutes off his previous best to win the Masters Clydesdale Division.
  • Jonathan SowinskiGreenville Sprint Triathlon - 1:12:43 – With a very solid all around race and a sub 19 minute 5K, Jonathan ran his way into 3rd in the M25-29.
  • Scott BrooksGreenville Sprint Triathlon - 1:13:06 – With a very consistent and all around race, Scott took almost 8 minutes off of his 2009 time to finish 4th in the always tough M40-44.
  • Troy Harman: Greenville Sprint Triathlon - 1:17:06 – With his long course trainng in full blast, Troy used a nice race to take 30 seconds off of last year’s time.
  • Darell DavisGreenville Sprint Triathlon -  1:30:30 Using Greenville as a warm up for Lake Logan, Darell had a great race at his first Greenville Sprint Triathlon to finish 4th in the M60-64.
  • Jason Williamson Greenville Sprint Triathlon - 1:35:19 – After a great swim, taking almost 2 minutes off of his 2008 swim, Jason had a mishap on the bike that caused a mechanical.  After making it through the bike, Jason had a nice run to finish off the race.
  • Jeff Waddle Stumpy Creek International Triathlon - 2:44:18 – Taking it to North Carolina, Jeff had a very consistent swim, bike, run to finish sub 2:45.
  • Darell Davis: Lake Logan International Triathlon - 3:06:29 – In one of the best venues on the triathlon circuit, Darell used a patient and very consistent race to finish his very first Olympic Distance Triathlon.

TYB Athletes had a great weekend this past weekend.  Check out the results below:

  • Bridget Campbell:  Charleston Sprint Triathlon - 1:01:51 – With a nice swim, a solid ride, and the fastest run of the day, Bridget was 1st Overall in Charleston – winning by over 5 and a half minutes.
  • Jeff Waddle: Charleston Sprint Triathlon - 1:09:43 – Improving over all 3 disciplines, Jeff had a great race and finished 5th in the very competitive M50-54.
  • Trey Judy:  Charleston Sprint Triathlon - 1:09:52 – Improving in every race, Trey used a very consistent swim, bike, and run to place 6th in the M45-49.
  • Lauren Goss:  San Francisco ITU Triathlon - 2:18:21 -  After a super cold swim, a solid bike and a very nice run on the very tough and windy course, Lauren finished 12th in her second ITU race.

TYB Athletes used a very nice weekend to have some VERY nice results this past weekend.  Check out the results below:

  • Lauren Goss:  Coteau-du-Lac ITU Triathlon - 2:08:10 – Racing her first ITU race as a PRO, Lauren had a great swim, a great draft legal bike and used a 37:28 10K to finish 4th Overall and 1st American.
  • Parker Roth:  Tri the Midlands – 57:03 – After the 6th fastest swim of the day, Parker used the fastest bike (by almost two minutes) and the fastest run to win by over 3 minutes.
  • Tom Snell:  Tri the Midlands – 1:11:18 – Using a very nice swim, a solid ride, and a very nice run, Tom finished 3rd in the very tough M50-54.
  • Eric Stone:  Furman 5K – 19:30 – Using Saturday as very nice speed work session, Eric turned in a 19:30 5K to finish 4th Overall with his PR to go along.
  • Ron Jerina:  Ironman CDA – Ron used a nice swim, a solid ride, and a nice run to finsih his 2nd Ironman – Congratulations!
  • Tedd Garner: Ironman CDA – Tedd used a very solid swim, a very solid ride, and a steady run to also finish his 2nd Ironman.

A Crazy Hot Weekend at Festival of Flowers! June 15, 2010

With temperatures crazy hot and the humidity at super high levels, athletes were treated to  a very HOT race this past weekend in Greenwood, SC at Festival of Flowers.  While the heat was high, the racing was great as well.  Check out the results from the TYB Athletes:

  • Parker Roth Festival of Flowers - 1:59:27 – With a super solid swim and the fastest bike of the day, Parker held on to a solid run and finished 1st Overall on a crazy HOT day.
  • Lauren GossFestival of Flowers – 2:05:55 – With the fastest swim of the day, a very solid ride, and the fastest run of the day, Lauren bested the course record by almost a minute and a half to finish 1st Overall by almost 5 minutes.
  • Bridget CampbellFestival of Flowers - 2:13:43 – A smooth swim, and very nice ride, and the 2nd fastest run of the day led Bridget to finish 3rd Overall and take almost 10 minutes off of last year’s time.
  • Brian CheekFestival of Flowers - 2:21:21 – With a very impressive all around race, Brian finshed 5th in the always tough M35 -39 age group.
  • Randy ParksFestival of Flowers - 2:25:17 – With a solid swim, a very nice ride, and a nice run, Randy finished 6th in the tough M40-44.
  • Troy HarmanFestival of Flowers - 2:42:41 – With a nice swim and bike, and a solid run with a hurt foot, Troy finished 3rd in the Masters Clydesdale.
  • Scott Brooks: Festival of Flowers - 2:54:05 – A solid swim and bike, Scott held onto a nice run to finish well below the 3 hour mark.
  • Reggie Chapman Festival of Flowers - 2:54:08 – Only seconds behind Scott, Reggie used a nice bike/run combination to easily finish under the 3 hour mark.
  • Jason WilliamsonFestival of Flowers - 3:10:16 – After coming off of vacation, Jason picked a tough and hot course to begin the workouts back.  With a nice swim, bike, and run, Jason is ready to go.
  • Stan FreemonEnka Triathlon at Biltmore - 1:48:02 – With a very solid swim and a consistent bike and run, Stan tok more than 15 minutes off of his time from the 2009 race.

Last weekend 10 TYB Athletes took to the races – the Go Tri Sports Triathlon at Hilton Head and the Anderson YMCA Sprint Triathlon.  Check out the results below:

  • Bridget CampbellGTS Sprint Triathlon - 1:05:15 – With a very smooth swim and a bike and a run that were both one minute faster each than last year to set a course record and finish 1st Overall.
  • Chip CollinsGTS Sprint Triathlon - 1:06:42 – With his first sprint triathlon in a good many years, Chip had a great swim, a nice ride, and the 7th fastest run of the day to finish 1st in the M40-44 and 11th Overall.
  • Tom Snell GTS Sprint Triathlon - 1:08:07 – With a solid swim, a very nice ride and run, Tom used a 1:08 to finish 1st in the M50-54.
  • Trey JudyGTS Sprint Triathlon - 1:15:44 – With a super solid swim and a very nice ride and run, Trey used a 1:15 to finish 2nd in the M50-54.
  • Ben Nessmith: GTS Sprint Triathlon - 1:20:14 – With a nice and consistent race throughout, Ben finished 9th out of 22 in the always tough M40-44.
  • Dan CarhartGTS Sprint Triathlon - 1:23:51 – A consistent race throughout, Dan finished nicely in the tough M40-44.
  • Jan RussoGTS Sprint Triathlon – 1:27:14 – With a nice swim and a very solid bike and run, Jan finished 4th in the F45-49, only 25 seconds out of 3rd place.
  • Scott BrooksAnderson YMCA Sprint Triathlon - 1:03:35 – With a solid swim, the 4th fastest ride, and a nice run, Scott finished 8th Overall and 1st in the M40-44.
  • Jason WilliamsonAnderson YMCA Sprint Triathlon - 1:07:26 - With a solid swim and run, and a very nice ride, Jason finished 1st in the M25-29.
  • Gina BrooksAnderson YMCA Sprint Triathlon - 1:09:11 – With a solid swim, bike, and run, Gina finished 2nd in the M35-39.

  • Pete RisellClemson Sprint Triathlon - 1:06:54 – With a solid swm, bike, run, Pete finished 8th out of 53 in the M35-39.
  • Brian CheekClemson Sprint Triathlon - 1:07:16 – With a very nice swim, and a very solid ride and run, Brian finished with a nice race to finish 9th out of 53 in the M35-39.
  • Kat WellingClemson Sprint Triathlon - 1:09:35 – With a very solid swim and a nice bike and run, Kat finished 4th in the Open Female.
  • Cheryl QuinnClemson Sprint Triathlon - 1:14:41 – With a consistent effort across the board, Cheryl finished 3rd in the Masters Open.
  • Troy HarmanClemson Sprint Triathlon - 1:16:31 – With a very nice swim and bike and a solid run, Troy finished in 2nd Masters Clydesdale.
  • Jason WilliamsonClemson Sprint Triathlon - 1:24:23 – Getting progressively faster in each event, Jason had a great race and finished his first Clemson ever.
  • David WaltersClemson Sprint Triathlon - 1:29:05 – With only his second race ever, David used a nice gameplan from the start to finish in under 1:30.
  • Darell Davis: Clemson Sprint Triathlon – 1:37:11 – A solid tri all around, Darell did a great job and finished 4th in the M60-64 in his second triathlon ever.
  • Lauren GossFlorida 70.3 Half Ironman - 4:48:05 – After a very solid swim, a bike that included a crash, and a very solid run on a crazy hot run course, Lauren ended the day 1st in her age group and 13th Overall.
  • Armin WahlFlorida 70.3 Half Ironman – 5:22:58 – After a nice and smooth swim and ride, Armin had a very nice 1:50 half marathon to finish well sub 5:30 in his first ever half ironman.
  • Jeff WaddleFlorida 70.3 Half Ironman – 6:16:46 – With a nice swim and bike, and a persistent run, Jeff finished the Florida Half to finish his second half ironman.
  • Trey JudyTurtle Crawl Sprint Triathlon - 1:32:43 – With a very nice swim and a solid bike and run on a humid day, Trey finished 4th in his age group.

With White Lake 2, Lake Murray, Tri the Rock in Rock Hill, SC and Rev3 Knoxville, this past weekend produced some epic weather at White Lake and some very fast times at Lake Murray and Tri the Rock and nice weather, but a tough course in Knoxville.  Check out the results below:

  • Parker Roth Lake Murray Sprint Triathlon - 1:05:42 – With a very solid swim, the fastest bike of the day and finishing with a 16:55 5K, Parker won the Lake Murray Sprint Triathlon in a new course record time.
  • Kat WellingLake Murray Sprint Triathlon - 1:17:58 – With the fastest swim and a very solid ride and run, Kat finished 1st Overall.
  • Eric StoneLake Murray Sprint Triathlon - 1:22:14 – With a very nice all around performance, Eric finshed 1st in the MC Category.
  • Troy HarmanLake Murray Sprint Triathlon - 1:25:29 – Again with a very nice swim, bike, and run, Troy finished just off the podium at Lake Murray in 4th in the Master Clydesdales.
  • Lauren GossTri the Rock Sprint Triathlon - 1:06:31 – With the 2nd fastest swim, the 4th fastest bike, and the fastest run OVERALL Lauren was 1st Place Overall – both male and female!
  • Bridget Campbell:  Rev3 Knoxville Half Ironman - 5:00:14 – With a very strong swim, a well paced ride, and an amazing 1:28 half marathon, Bridget had a great first half ironman to finish 2nd Overall.
  • Chip Collins:  White Lake Half Ironman - 5:39:05 – On an amazingly hot and windy day, Chip had a great first half ironman and paced himself well to still run a sub 2 hour half marathon in the crazy heat to finish 8th out 63 in the M40-44.
  • Dan CarhartWhite Lake Half Ironman - 6:04:23 – Racing his second half ironman in less than 6 weeks, Dan had a great race and very relaxed all around.
  • Tom SnellWhite Lake Half Ironman - 6:31:41 – With a solid swim and ride, Tom used a gutty performance to make it through the run to finish his first Half Ironman.

This past weekend, TYB Athletes raced all along the Coast of South Carolina and North Carolina.  While heat, humidity, and wind created epic conditions, everyone did a great job.   Check out the results below:

  • Randy Parks: Charleston Half Ironman - 5:10:42 -  With a very nice swim and an evenly paced bike, Randy finished 6th out of 34 in the M40-44.
  • Eric StoneCharleston Half Ironman - 5:14:27 – With the second fastest bike and fastest run in the Masters Clydesdale, Eric finshed first in the MC and had the fastest time in the Clydesdale category.
  • Brian CheekCharleston Half Ironman - 5:19:42 – With a very solid race as far as pacing goes, Brian made it through the run with cramps to finish 8th out of 45 in the M35-39.
  • Ron Jerina: Charleston Half Ironman - 5:50:11 – Racing in the crazy heat, Ron had a nice swim, bike, and run to break the 6 hour mark by almost 10 minutes.
  • Lauren GossCharleston Sprint Triathlon - 54:05 – With the fastest swim, the second fastest bike, and the fastest run (both male and female), Lauren was 1st Overall.
  • Cheryl QuinnCharleston Sprint Triathlon - 1:03:34 – With a solid swim, the 5th fastest bike and a very nice run to finish 7th Overall and 2nd Masters Female.
  • David Walters: Charleston Sprint Triathlon - 1:12:49 – Finishing his first triathlon, David had a very solid swim, bike, and run to become a first time triathlete.
  • Darell DavisCharleston Sprint Triathlon - 1:22:13 – Also finishing his first triathlon, Darell had a very nice all around showing in the swim, bike and run.
  • Scott BrooksWhite Lake Half Ironman - 5:59:13 – With New Orleans only 13 days prior, Scott had a solid swim and bike to break the 6 hour mark.
  • Reggie Chapman: White Lake Half Ironman - 6:27:05 – Again coming off New Orleans less than 2 weeks ago, Reggie used an evenly paced race to break 6:30 at the very hot White Lake Half.
  • James Lister: White Lake Half Ironman - 6:27:00 – With the same crazy hot conditions, James used a solid swim, ride, and run to win First in the Masters Novice Division.
  • Ben Nessmith: White Lake Half Ironman - 6:27:10 – With a solid swim and bike and a very nice run, Ben used pacing and a mental strength to break 6:30 at White Lake.
  • Trey Judy:  Tri the Farm – 2:04:00 – Racing at the first event in Pooler, GA, this middle distance race had a great turnout.  Again racing with the heat, Trey had a great showing.
  • Gina Brooks:  Hartwell Dam Run 10K - 52:14 – After a great New Orleans 70.3 a couple of weeks ago, Gina took to Hartwell for some 10K speed to win her age group.
  • Jason Williamson:  Hartwell Dam Run 10K - 52:58 – WIth a race for a little speed work, Jason rolled a very nice 10K to finish 3rd in his age group.
